Ziyan Yang (he/him) is an experienced arts administrator and advocate who has worked with American Opera Projects, the Fort Greene Orchestra, and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, contributing both on stage and behind the scenes.
New to the Bay Area, Ziyan is currently a teaching artist in residence with San Francisco Opera Guild, guiding young adults in creating and performing original short musicals and operettas. As a composer and playwright, his works have been presented at Off-Broadway and regional venues including the Detroit Opera House, Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater, and the SoHo Playhouse. Ziyan holds a B.F.A. in Composition from China Conservatory of Music and an M.F.A. in Musical Theatre Writing from New York University, where he was a Tisch Fellow.
