Mezzo-soprano Laurel Cameron Porter, a graduate of Cincinnati-Conservatory of Music, and native of Minneapolis, MN, has appeared on operatic stages around the country as a soloist and a chorister. A tenured member of the San Francisco Opera Chorus, she has also performed as a chorister with the Metropolitan Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, Chicago Symphony Chorus, New York Philharmonic and locally with the Philharmonia Baroque Chorale and San Francisco Symphony Chorus.
She has appeared as a young artist with Glimmerglass Opera, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Pine Mountain Music Festival, Sarasota Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Utah Festival Opera, Caramoor Music Festival and Virginia Opera.
Laurel holds a special place in her heart for the accordion and for sacred music. She is passionate about singing and sharing the joy of music with the people around her and she is honored to be joining the teachers of the Young Women’s Choral Projects in educating the next generation of musicians.
