Ching Shih was born in Taipei, Taiwan. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education at the Taichung Teachers University in Taiwan. She holds a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Washington, where she was a student of Patricia Michaelian.
Ching has been active as a collaborator, performer, and educator throughout the Bay area. She has accompanied youth and adult choirs including the Bethany Community Church Youth Choir in Seattle, the First Congregational Church Youth Choir in Palo Alto, and the Peninsula Clef Hangers Women’s Choir. She performs regularly as a piano soloist and chamber musician including the Fortnightly Music Club in Palo Alto and Soirée Musicale in Saratoga. She has taught private students and has taught in public schools including the John Gill School in Redwood City.
Aside from music, she enjoys studying art history and visiting museums around the world.
