"Your Young Women's Chorus of San Francisco is really an incredible group of young musicians. . . energy, passion and commitment to excellence are so clearly at the heart of every note they sing. We were thrilled to be together on stage." - David Harrington, Kronos Quartet
Arietta Singers emphasizes a foundation for healthy singing, while engaging the whole child in fun, interactive musical learning. It is an outstanding way to explore a girl’s interest in music and singing and her potential for future opportunities in YWCP.
Arietta Singers meets once a week for 45 minutes. Using a Kodály inspired curriculum, class members build basic musicianship skills and vocal technique while actively engaging their minds, bodies and voices in folk songs and dances, music games, simple percussion playing and age-appropriate unison choral music. Arietta performs for their parents twice a year. The class is limited to 15 singers.
The classes are held at First Unitarian Church and Center, 1187 Franklin St. @ Geary in San Francisco on Sundays, 2:45-3:30pm, from September to May.
Annual Tuition is $850 which includes a $100 non-refundable deposit (due upon registration) and one YWCP Arietta Singers T-shirt to be worn for performances.

Members of YWCP’s ensembles perform in Fremont Opera’s production of one of Britten’s best-loved operas with full orchestra. Based on the 15th-century Chester Miracle Play that recounts the biblical story of Noah, the flood, and the ark, Britten created a magical one-act opera, to be sung by a mix of professional and amateur performers, including many children.
